This forms part of their training and assessment, will only be viewed by their trainer, and is used to offer them advice on how to improve their consulting. You will usually be warned at the time of booking your appointment. Video – GP registrars will sometimes ask your permission to video your consultation with them.
They have worked in several hospital posts already, so often bring high levels of experience to their work, and by the end of their placement act similarly to a partner. They spend a year working in practice as part of their rotation, supervised by a trainer. GP Registrar – these are doctors who have completed their initial postgraduate training (F2 above), and are now starting to specialise in General Practice. They are allowed to see and treat patients alone, though are fully supervised and debriefed by the partners. They spend time with different team members.į2 Trainee – these are fully qualified doctors, who are spending part of their second postgraduate training year working in General Practice. Medical students – we have students 3 times a year, working at the practice for 7 weeks as part of their clinical training. If you would prefer to see them alone, please ask at reception (where a sign should also be displayed, warning you that some one is sitting in with your doctor). This means that at times, there may be a second person sitting in with your regular doctor. The practice has been involved in training both medical students and young doctors for many years now.
